Vata

As the dosha comprised of air and ether that is responsible for movement and communication, there are so many beautiful qualities of vata dosha—we can thank vata for our inspiration, creativity, and spontaneity, among other gifts. Sometimes referred to as “the cheerleader of the universe,” the upbeat, cheerful attitude balanced vata brings can be contagious.

But when this ethereal dosha is ungrounded and out of balance, it can come with a whole slew of issues that can affect the whole person, physically, mentally, and emotionally—such as overwhelm, spaciness, anxiousness, variable appetite, digestive issues, and so much more.

If this sounds familiar, don’t fret—Ayurveda offers ample resources to help you come back to balance. There are plenty of herbs for vata and suggestions that can help you incorporate a vata diet and lifestyle. Make changes in a way that feels empowering and inspiring to you, and if you feel overwhelmed during the process, just come back to the basics. These articles are here to guide you on your journey!
