Seren has always been passionate about health, movement, nature, and spirituality. She was introduced to yoga after a rock-climbing injury, and after studying and teaching yoga for many years discovered and fell in love with Ayurveda. She currently resides in Ashland, OR with her cat Loki.
How has Ayurveda changed your life?
Ayurveda has given me the language and tools to understand and trust in my own body’s wisdom. By noticing the patterns of nature and the patterns that exist in my own life and body, it has allowed me to tune in to the medicine needed in each moment and to stay connected to a place of vitality and power, rather than depletion and overwhelm. More than anything, it has given me permission to deeply care for, nourish, and fall in love with myself.
Which Banyan products are you currently using and why?
Beauty Balm, for everything…skin, lips, moisture, deliciousness, joy. Adrenal Nourish, for supporting my endocrine and hormonal system. Kutki, for liver support.
When are you most likely to go out of balance and how do you bring yourself back in balance using Ayurveda?
In the fall, when vata is high, I tend to get cold, dry, ungrounded, and overwhelmed. The things that bring me back into balance: Abhyanga, meditation, ashwagandha, golden milk, kitcheri, bone broth, and warm baths.
Favorite place in the world?
The Mediterranean Sea.
