Sean was born in Lyons, Kansas, where his family lived and worked on a dairy farm. Many twists and turns led him to living in various other states and countries, but he’s always ended up back in Albuquerque. He likes it there and is happy to be raising a family in such a diverse, interesting place. Sean was exposed to herbs and herbalism as a child and feels blessed to have been able to learn so much more while working for Banyan.

How has Ayurveda changed your life?

Ayurveda has helped teach me the importance of balance in life.

Which Banyan products are you currently using and why?

I use Yogaraj Guggulu powder for popping joints (has helped a great deal when I remember to take it).

When are you most likely to go out of balance and how do you bring yourself back in balance using Ayurveda?

I feel out of balance when I’m stressed, I generally get my balance back by visiting the River, making art, or going for long bike rides.

Favorite place in the world?

I felt very connected to the people and land in Ireland. I would love to go back and share that beauty with my children.

Favorite book?

“Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World“ by Haruki Murakami and “My Name is Red” by Ohran Pamuk.

Favorite quote?

“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see” — Mark Twain

How do you make a difference in your community/world?

I believe that people are able to make a difference by living as an example of how they want the world to be. I choose to support local, sustainable, fair trade, and/or organic agriculture; and practice acceptance, compassion, forgiveness, and humility.
