I love the oil but I do not like the new bottles. The cap is a screw on with no little pour spout like the the old one. I ordered 5 large bottles and none came with a pump or pourable cap. . . .

can you tell me the shelf life for Shiro oil? thanks
All of our herbal oils, when stored out of direct sunlight and excessive heat have the same shelf life as cooking oils, which average between one and two years. If, when you smell the oil, it has a rancid smell, this indicates the oil has gone bad and should be replaced.
Does this oil have a smell or is it neutral. I do get inspired by the smell. Is it earthy? or does it just smell like sesame and i would need to add essential oil? i prefer not too.
Our Shirodhara Oil has a very light, sesame scent that reflects subtle, earthy undertones. You could add a hint of your favorite, essential oil for more fragrance.
Hello--I'm wondering if Shirodhara Oil the same percentage Sesame to Sunflower oil as your Pitta Massage Oil? I love many of Banyan's oils, but I didn't like the texture of the Pitta Massage Oil. Thanks!
We follow the traditional Ayurvedic formulas and processes of slowly infusing herbs into our massage oils. Due to the difference in overall energetics, the textures and weights of our massage oils will vary. Our Pitta Massage Oil is a little more cooling and it is infused with nine organic herbs. It has a slightly ‘heavier' texture than our Shirodhara Oil.

Can the Shirodhara oil be used to massage the body?
Yes! Traditionally it is used during a treatment in which a warm stream of oil is applied between the eyebrows. It a relaxing and stress reducing treatment. The oil is very relaxing and soothing, and can also be used on the body. We hope this helps!
