Works well!

I appreciate the quality of Banyan Botanicals products. Using Kanchanar Guggulu powder on a regular basis has helped with my digestion and lymph drainage since I am prone to difficulties in both areas.

Hi,

Can I Prepare a Kadha out of this Kanchanar Guggulu powder and take it on an empty stomach in the morning?

Is there any nutrition loss due to heating of powder in the water ? Will kadha bi more beneficial as it will be in liquid form ?

Please help me understand the answers to above questions. Thanks

Rachel Euell

Thanks for your question Manish! Our recommended serving for the Kanchanar Guggulu powder is 1/8-1/4 teaspoon with warm water, once or twice daily. It is not necessary to make a decoction, but if you prefer to do so please feel free—it will not decrease the benefits of the formula. And of course, for the most personalized advice, we encourage you to seek the guidance of an Ayurvedic practitioner.

Sandra

How many 1/4 tsp servings are in the spice jar size?

Rachel Euell

Thank you for your question, Sandra‚Äã. In general, the spice jars are around 3 ounces in weight and the total volume of the spice jars is 6 ounces, which equates to roughly 3/4 cup of product, or 35 teaspoons. We don't display the weight of the herbs on our spice jar size as the total ounces can vary from batch to batch. The weight is printed on the front of the label, which can be viewed upon receipt of the product. Some herbs are more finely ground, such as Ashwagandha, while others are more coarse, like Guggulu, and this can affect the overall weight of the herb. We found it would be more supportive to measure and fill the jars for volume rather than weight to avoid any confusion over this natural variance, as we don't have a way to standardize for weight without affecting volume. We welcome you to reach out to us at info@banyanbotanicals.com or 1(800)953-6424 if you have any additional questions that we can answer or if there is anything further we can clarify.

Is it ok the put my Tulsi drops in with my Kanchanar Guggulu powder and drink them together?

Rachel Euell

Yes, it is fine to use our Tulsi with Kanchanar Guggulu. Tulsi (Ocimum Sanctum) or Holy Basil, is a powerful, adaptogenic herb that is thought to increase ojas and prana. Here's a link to more:

Why would one choose the powder over the pill form? Which gives you better results or is their a difference and why?

Rachel Euell

Thank you for your inquiry. In Ayurveda, the taste of the herbs is considered to be an advantage for maximizing the beneficial effects, which is one reason that the powder form is sometimes preferred. The taste "cues" the body to the energetic benefits of the herb(s) before it reaches the digestive tract.

That said, choosing the form of the herbs that is best for you is a matter of personal preference and convenience. Tablets provide an easy and convenient method of taking the herbs. Liquid extracts enter the digestive tract faster a bit faster than tablets or powders. Unlike tablets, liquid doesn't need to be broken down in digestion so it assimilates more quickly. No matter the form of herbs taken, the results are equally beneficial!

Hi, can i use Kanchanar Guggulu together with shatavari powder? Thank you.

Rachel Euell

Yes, you can take Kanchanar Guggulu and Shatavari together. Kanchanar is best taken in the middle of the day when your agni, or digestive fire, is the strongest. Also, taking this with warm water is the best way to soften the guggulu for maximum absorption.

Shatavari is most commonly used as a rejuvenative for the female reproductive system. This herb also helps to maintain the healthy production of female hormones. Because hormones have such a vast and profound effect on women's health, you may find Shatavari to provide a wide range of health benefits. With more specific questions, we suggest working with a qualified, Ayurvedic practitioner.
