FEATURING GUGGULU RESIN
Guggulu is prized in Ayurveda for its deeply penetrating action and unique ability to scrape away naturally accumulating toxins from the body channels. Its powerful detoxifying and rejuvenating qualities can enhance the benefits of other herbs when used in combination, and as such it is the basis for several traditional Ayurvedic formulas, including Triphala Guggulu.*

POTENT DETOXIFICATION & REJUVENATION
This classic Ayurvedic preparation combines guggulu with the detoxifying and rejuvenating actions of triphala to maximize the health of the GI tract. It is particularly useful for healthy weight management as it enkindles the digestive fire, promotes healthy metabolism, and supports elimination of excess kapha and ama from the system.*

My Ayurvedic practioner accidently had me get the powder when he meant to have me take the pills. He has apologized as this is horrible to drink mixed with water. I will definitely order the pills next time.
We are sorry the taste of the Trihala Guggulu presented such a challenge. In Ayurveda, the taste of a given supplement is part of its supportive energetics. If you would like to return the powder for a full refund if within 90 days of purchase, please call us at 800 953 6424 to explore related details.
I've been taking 1/4 tsp of this on an empty stomach in the evening and really feel a difference. Before, my system felt very slow and heavy, but after taking this for a month I've experienced much improvement. I feel more comfortable in my own skin, and more energetic. I even got used to the taste, learning to enjoy it knowing how much it's been helping.

I had high hopes of a more regular digestive tract from this product. There has been small improvement. I take it with my warm mushroom tea in the morning. Taste and texture take some getting used to.
This had a very pleasant and mildly sweet taste compared to other triphala tea I have consumed. Now i taste all the tastes in triphala. Historically it was too sour and bitter so I had to switch to pills instead of tea., over 20 years I have done many kitcheri cleanses with supportive herbs and random use of triphala tablets.
Spring of 2020 I timed a two month kitcheri detox diet with triphala capsules that was successful because I was laid off due to Covid. I believe this Helped correct my taste buds!
I am very excited to incorporate this into my routine because of the deep penetrating action of this formula along with being able to consume triphala tea, instead of tablets, because of the importance of tasting….

Is the Triphala Guggulu is supposed to be clumpy? While it works beautifully, it is somewhat difficult to dissolve.
Because Guggulu is a resin, the Triphala Guggulu powder may be clumpy and somewhat difficult to dissolve. Mixing with hot water and stirring will help soften the resin, making it easier to drink. Any remaining residue will be soft and easy to chew.
When the package arrived, the powder wasn't smooth. There are many..small and big hard clusters. I wondered if it fresh.
Hi Chiyumi,
Guggulu, a key ingredient in this formula, is a resin from the Guggulu tree. Resins naturally form into small pebble-like clumps at cooler temperatures. Simply mix the formula into hot water and stir to break up the herb clusters.

Very pleased with product.
I started using this product daily on empty stomach first thing in the morning and I feel great! More energy, feeling happier inside.
I wish someone would rate these herbs according to what they taste like. Bitter , Mild, Fruity, maybe some suggestions on how to take the herbs in a more palpable way. I can’t comment on this, if is working or not because I am not taking it with regularity. I will keep trying. Thank You for trying to get feedback. Debra
Thank you for your feedback, Debra. Ayurvedic herbs and formulas don't always lend themselves to a pleasant sensual experience by Western standards, but in Ayurveda, taste is an important avenue of healing. Beneath the image of the herb, the tab entitled 'Energetics and Use' has a description of the taste as well as information on the herb's effects on the doshas. You may enjoy taking Triphala Guggulu with honey for a more palatable experience.
I read on another site that you are supposed to mix the triphala powder with water and then leave it for a few hours/overnight and then drink it, leaving the dregs and then mix the dregs with water the next morning and leave it all day, then drink that in the night. The Banyan instructions just say to mix and drink right away. Does it matter?
Great question! Both methods are standard procedures for taking triphala. We suggest trying both and finding which method works best for you!
triphala tablet how I take ?
Triphala tablets are best taken with warm water in the evenings before bed, or first thing in the morning when you wake up. Our suggested dosage is 1-2 tablets, once to twice daily, or as recommended by your practitioner.
I have ordered Triphala powder before and can't seem to find that on the website. Triphala Guggulu powder keeps coming up. I know i bought a small spice jar in october for under $10 and need to reorder that...can you help me find it asap?
Yes, we carry straight triphala in powder, liquid extract, and tablet form. Here is a link to triphala in powder form on our website: https://www.banyanbotanicals.com/shop/category/bulk-herbs-spices-formulas/triphala-powder/
You can find it in the future under "Shop" at the top of the website. Then click on "bulk herbs" and they will be listed in alphabetical order. Thank you for your interest in Banyan Botanicals, and have a lovely day!
Would I be able to put this into a capsules and take it daily that way? If so, how many "0" size capsules would make the proper dosage?
Yes, you can always transfer our powdered herbs into capsules if you prefer. The suggested dosage is 1/8 to 1/4 tsp taken once or twice per day.
Can you still get the same effect if you incorporated Triphala Guggulu powdering in a body mud mask?
Thank you for your inquiry. Triphala Guggulu may have some great benefits when used externally, however the effect of taking it internally would likely be quite different, as it is being absorbed through the GI tract rather than the skin. We recommend consulting an Ayurvedic practitioner or skincare specialist if you are curious about using the herb externally!
