This elderberry-infused honey offers immune support with a jam-like consistency. Customers praised its "delicious flavor" and use as a health supplement, though opinions vary on texture. Some found it perfect for toast, oatmeal, or warm water beverages, while others disliked the grainy, paste-like consistency that doesn't dissolve well in tea. The price point is high.

  • The absolutely delicious FLAVOR of the elderberry honey makes IT my FAVORITE!!!
  • I so enjoy this jammy honey for a dose of antioxidants and immune system support.
  • Makes a great soothing beverage with a subtly sweet flavor.

Missed the Mark

I am surprised to read the positive reviews and makes we wonder about the jar we received. When I saw the new Elderberry Honey I was really excited and ordered a jar right away. My family loves honey and also elderberries. However, no one liked this honey. It is a very dry paste (not easy to spread) and not sweet at all. It doesn't look or smell appetizing either. No one will eat it and we have pretty much a full jar left.

Hi NB, we appreciate your feedback and we're sorry the Elderberry Honey didn't meet your expectations. The blend is rather thick but should soften a bit after being stirred. We'll be reaching out to you directly to discuss a solution!

DELICIOUS!!!

A while ago I bought one jar of this honey and one of the turmeric. Hubby and I like them both very much! I prefer the smoother texture of the turmeric honey BUT the absolutely delicious FLAVOR of the elderberry honey still makes IT my FAVORITE!!! I'm back to buy MORE!!! :)

We're so glad you're enjoying the Honeys, Linda! Thanks for the lovely review.

Great Flavor

I love the flavor of this honey. It's an easy way to get your elderberry. It can even be used as a spread on on bread.

My new goto "tea" in warm water

My new favorite Banyan product. I mix 1/2tsp to 1 tsp in a 8 to 12 ounces of warm water. . . it makes a great soothing beverage. . . with a subtly sweet flavor. Due to the herbs in the honey, it does leave some grit into the bottom of the cup but its not as annoying as other reviewers mention. What a great way to get a boost with great flavor and very little effort.

Expensive, but liking it

For folks who think this is a honey to mix with tea or make a drink. The texture, and look is different, and that puts people off. I actually like the taste and texture since I take it straight. It looks and tastes almost like a Chyawanprash , maybe a bit sweeter due to Honey. My use for this was purely as a health supplement, esp the Elderberry. It checks all boxes, except for price. $30 for a small quantity. .

fine, for medicinal honey by the spoonful

This honey's got some good stuff in it, so I was glad to have some by the spoonful when I needed an immunity boost. However the texture and consistency was neither good for dissolving in teas (clumpy, grainy, unpleasant) nor for spreading on toast or fruit (too thick and uneven in it's herbiness). Not the best.

Yummy

I so enjoy this jammy honey for a dose of antioxidants and immune system support. LOVE the herbs in this formula... supportive of the body AND the mind. I like it in oats, smoothies, and right off the spoon.

Elderberry Honey

Who knew there could be such a novel blend and good-for-you taste packed in a jar! I have a difficult time adhering to a routine of taking health supplements, but I don't think that will be the case with the Elderberry Honey! Just the taste inspiration I needed to keep my health on track -- easy-peasy!

We're so glad you're enjoying it!

My familys favorite

Elderberry is already a staple for my family but this product is now by far our favorite way to take it. My kid loves it and begs for it every morning. I could eat this entire jar in one sitting if I didn't have self control. The blueberry is a really nice addition for health as well.

Sweet and delicious

The honey is more like jam in consistency. I added a little to some toast and I’ve also added it to my tea for a little sweetness.

Thank you for the review, Jennifer! We're glad you're enjoying our new herbal honey!

Elderberry honey

I didn’t like it at all. Flakes and residue in my glass tea cup. Made my beautiful tea look awful. I would never buy it again.

Thank you for your feedback, Claudia! We're so sorry the Elderberry Honey didn't work out for you. We'll be reaching out to offer further support, so keep an eye out for an email from us.

Yummy healthy spread

This honey spread is packed with goodness. Notes of sweet from honey, bitter and earthy from the berries. The consistency can get a little hard in fridge.

Elderberry is toxic until cooked. Is the elderberry in this honey boiled or cooked to a safe level?

Rachel Euell

Banyan sources pure ripe elderberries. By keeping the stems and leaves, which contain the highest concentration of the naturally occurring Cyanogenic Glycosides (CG's) out of the harvest and focusing the harvest on the ripe berries, we minimize the level of CG's in that process.

Further steps we take to minimize CG's besides harvesting pure ripe elderberries includes breaking down CG's naturally in the drying, and milling processes, and also CG's are also broken down at the step where we blend our elderberries into warm honey to make the elderberry honey. Our Elderberry honey has been carefully formulated to be both efficacious and safe.

Can you add raw honey to hot tea without losing its benefits?

Rachel Euell

Hi Pam, thanks for the great question! Raw honey will still maintain its wonderful benefits so long as the water is below 105 degrees Fahrenheit. We would suggest letting the water come down in temperature a bit if you bring it to a boil before brewing your tea.
