Rooted and Radiant with Dashamula

I have always had a special affection for trees. They give us oxygen, keep the earth rooted, take nourishment from the soil and give us their beauty. Their shade comforts small creatures and keeps the earth fertile. Several tree barks are an important ingredient in Dashamula. It is a classic Ayurvedic formula used to help ground Vata, which may improve digestion and cleansing. Since the bark is astringent it can improve Kapha to enhance breathing. I add 1/4 tsp of Dashamula powder to my morning green tea and, like a tree, feel rooted and radiant.

Post partum tonic

This product made a noticeable difference in my mood and sense of grounded ness during my postpartum period. It was recommended by an Ayurdoula to take twice daily and I would notice if I had missed a dose. More than any other supplement or herb, this is the one I would definitely recommend to other new mums!

Worked perfectly for what I needed

I bought this to do a panchakarma at home. Used this for the enema and it worked just great. I imagine it's not as easy to strain as the leaf would be, but the powder settles at the bottom of whatever vessel it's in, so it's easy to avoid putting that into your enema bottle.

Dashmoola powder

I am a postpartum doula and make this for my clients, cooking it down into tea shots.
Really helps with the data in the pelvis which is often intense in postpartum.

We assume that you meant vata in the pelvis unless data is a doula jargon word of which we are not aware. Glad you are able to support your clients in meeting that challenge.

Helped me a ton!

I had ongoing stomach gas issues even if i avoided any food that would cause it. This powder helps clear it out and keeps you un-bloated all day.

It was recommended by a Doula to me. During my postpartum period, I used it. It worked awesome in the healing of my body. Helped my immune system, digestive track, stress and focus. I recommend this to every woman during the postpartum period.

Hi! I notice in the description it says a decoction of the whole herbs can be used to make an enema. Is it also possible to use powdered dashamula to make an enema solution or does it need to be strained out? Thank you!

Rachel Euell

Hi Kera,

Thanks for your great question! Because we are not practitioners, we are limited in regards to some of the things we can speak to, including the practice of enemas. If enemas are new to you, we highly recommend seeking the guidance of an Ayurvedic practitioner to help direct you through the process. And if you do decide to work with dashamula, we definitely recommend straining the herbs. Hope this helps!

Hello, I have been diagnosed with Vata imbalance (Vata /pitta constitution) and would like to know if this covers the broad spectrum of Vata imbalance symptoms , in my case, joint pain, nervousness, stress related issues. I am currently taking Shankapushpi . Is there any contraindication or incompatibility with this product?

Rachel Euell

Our Dashamula is a traditional Ayurvedic formula for removing excess vata from the system. This formula is grounding and helps direct the flow of vata energy in the body downward. Dashamula supports the proper function of the nervous system and the lungs. It strengthens and nourishes the body, as well as it promotes healthy elimination of natural toxins in the body.

Dashamula can be taken with Shankhapushpi. We always recommend that you consult with your healthcare practitioner prior to the use of this product, if you are pregnant or nursing, taking medications, or have a medical condition.

To rejuvenate and strengthen the skeletal and neuromuscular systems, we suggest looking into our Joint Support formula. This heating blend contains herbs and resins that detoxify, lubricate and soothe the joint tissues. Here's a link to more:

Our cautions with this product are our standard ones: consult with your health care practitioner prior to the use of this product if you are pregnant or nursing, taking medications, or have a medical condition. We would advise you to refrain from using this product pending a consultation with an Ayurvedic practitioner to rule out any special reason why it does not align with your system.
