AYURVEDA'S "KING OF THE HAIR"
Bhringaraj is so well known for its affinity with the head and hair that it often goes by the Sanskrit name kesharaja, or “king of the hair." Thanks to its cooling and nourishing nature, it helps to soothe excess heat at the root and encourage a healthy, lustrous mane—especially when combined with the deeply rejuvenating qualities of sesame oil.

Customers praised this hair oil for promoting thick, healthy hair and moisturizing the scalp. Many reported "softer, easier to manage" hair with potential darkening effects. Some noted hair growth benefits and improved sleep. However, concerns included strong scent, greasy appearance if overused, new pump bottle issues, and inconsistent results for some shoppers.

- My hair retained the moisture for much longer, feels softer and is much easier to manage

Love this product. My scalp is happy and my hair stays thick. That said, miss the old containers. The pumps on the new bottles are cantankerous and it’s difficult to see how much product remains.
Not heavy on your hair at all..Really helps with my hair growth, along with the HEALTHY HAIR supplements
Hi Desiree, happy to hear that the hair products are working for you! Thank you so much for taking the time to review!
This is my second large bottle. The first was great and had a good smell to it. This one has a different smell as if bordering on being over cured. As you know, over cured oil is detrimental and should be thrown out. Burnt oil is very bad for you. That's a lot of money to spend on a lot of oil you're not sure about. I decided to try it and I can't detect any headaches or ill effects. The strong smell could just be the sesame oil base. Next time i buy I'll ask me to select the lightest green coloured bottle rather than the browner coloured ones to be sure. The first batch had a nice smell. I could smell the bringaraj and I could feel the settling effect on my mind during meditation.
Hi Hamish, thanks for taking the time to review. We want to assure you that the oil is not over-cured or burnt. The strong smell is likely coming from the sesame oil base. Also herbal oils can vary from batch to batch, depending on environmental factors happening at the time of the growth and harvesting of the herbs contained. So it could be that the bhringaraj in the oil from last year had a greener color and stronger scent, and the bhringaraj from our most recent lot was browner and not as strong-smelling, which would factor into the oil smelling and appearing a little different. We suggest adding a little bit of an essential oil you like into the oil when you use it for massage to help with the scent.
We have a 90 day return policy and we'd be happy to work with you on a return for the product if you're not satisfied with it.
It gets the frizz out. I cannot keep it this on before sleep.
De-frizzes my hair (I put in and then work out ), will use as an oil to moisturize bottom of feet or hands. Has strong Neem oil scent but goes away.
I have used Healthy Hair for years and had to switch to this product to reduce brahmi. Banyan bhringaraj leaves my hair thick and healthy.
I mixed this oil with my hair grease and very soothing and moisturizing . It also helps during my sleep cycle to keep me on a healthy sleep cycle
I really love the oil and have mixed it with other oils and diluted with essential oils/carrier to make hair growth oil.
The quality and scent of this oil is very appealing to me. My skin has responded well and feels healthier and moisturized in a good way. Dealing with Banyan has been a pleasure and I recommend wholeheartedly.
This oil is very nice. My family also likes this oil very much that we use it in our hair every weekend!
I've been using this particular product now for somewhere around 20 years. And I love it! And my hair loves it! I was reading some of the reviews and realize I've not been using it like others, or rather they don't use it like I do; but here's my story. A couple of times a week, to a couple of times a month, to once every now and then, I get this, and I massage my scalp and work down to the ends of my hair. I leave it on for as long as I can. Sometimes overnight, but usually only an hour or so. Then, I wash it out. Since it's hard to wash out, I've learned that either adding shampoo full strength to dry hair and working up a lather, or even using a conditioner first (kind of like fighting fire with fire) works to help get the oil out of my hair so it doesn't look greasy. Anyway, after all that: I'm grasping to my 7th decade of life and my friends tell me how my hair looks shiny, thick and silky just like a "young girl's" hair. And, while I have some random gray hair, you can't see it unless you are right up at me and nearly all of it is around my ear-hairline. My hairdresser says my hair is "astounding" I don't use color on my hair, nor do I use a lot of "products" but I don't feel the need to. I'm happy with my streamlined routine and this oil which I swear by! (use it on my skin too!)
Thank you for the beautiful review! We appreciate your feedback and tips for how you get the oil out of your hair easily.
I love using this at night as a foot massage oil. Soothing and relaxing.

I like many Banyan B. products so was very disappointed in this (should have taken other reviews of smell more seriously.) First, does nothing to benefit y hair. If I put the SMALLEST amount on my hair it looks greasy and in needing of a wash. I tried to use it o the scalp, as it alleges it promotes hair growth--my dermatologist told me that this is false---and he was not trying to sell me on something he does. He educated me as to things that true double-blind studies which show work: appropriate laser treatments. Finally, sesame oil is the first ingredient, showing that there is more sesame oil in this product than true Bhringaraj, and my bottle does not divulge how much--, guess is a lot or they would be transparent about this. oil the consumer getting (they are SUPPOSED to let the consumer know. There are so many far superior oils to use as a carrier oil for a hair product that my only assumption is that, as this company also sells sesame oil individually--the are just using it because they have it already and NOT because its an optimal oil for hair. If they try to claim sesame oil has benefits to the hair--make them prove the source/literature. But the claim would be false--given the UCLA hair specialist, I ran this all by.

have used other oils in the past
your oil seems to be all sesame oil and not much eclipta oil
somewhat disappointed in product
Hi, Diana, if you are disappointed and wish to return the oil for refund, we will gladly refund you within 90 days of purchase. Just give us a call at 800 953 6424 and we will provide related details.
I still don't see much change in my hair loss. Been atleast 2 weeks since I have started using this oil.
Hi, Raga; we suggest that one needs to be prepared for a more or less prolonged course of applying the oil because it often takes a long time to reverse the imbalances that have led to the hair loss in the first place. In that regard, trying the oil for at least two months might give you a better idea of its potential in your case. If you are not happier with the results by then, we would be happy to arrange a product return. Please keep in mind that there are other factors to bring into alignment when seeking to support hair health and that we have lots of related information on our website.

I love this product~ it's lovely and helps my hair and eyelashes be healthy and lush :)
Very cooling! Will buy again.
I am glad to have found such a nice large size in this hair oil - I use it on regular bases now that I have enough - very good price - love it -
I don't know what makes people have gray hair so I don't know what would keep mine or prevent mine from being gray but I know I've used this product, off and on for many years now, I'm long since retired and living my golden years out with dark hair. My hair still has a shine to it and I only have a very few gray hairs scattered throughout my head. People have asked me what "coloring" I use on my hair, that it looks very natural. They seem to be surprised when I tell them that I do not use artificial colorants on my hair. Would my hair look like this had I not used this product? I don't know but I'm not taking any chances, I like the way it looks when I'm using this. And, if it makes your hair oily and hard to shampoo out, simply put shampoo in your palm, rub together and apply throughout your hair and massage into your scalp without using water. Shampoo as thoroughly as you would with water, but just don't add water. This should help.
The oil seems great, but I'm not sure on how to use it on my hair without making my hair too oily. This is my first time using this oil, which I hadn't known about previously. I need to do more research. It doesn't seem to absorb into my scalp or skin as easily as I'd like, but I gave it a 4 because I think it has great potential if I learn how to use it correctly.
Here is a link to our video on applying oil to the scalp: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNlAUFqrG00. When you are ready to rinse the oil, it is helpful to apply shampoo before wetting your hair. This should make the hair less oily.
I love the Bhringaraj oil for hair. With the change in seasons and too much stress my hair was paying the price. I was losing more hair than usual and it was dry, as it often is when the weather chills down. I put a bit of the oil in a dropper bottle with a pipette, then apply it to my scalp and massage, then brush my hair. I leave it on overnight and wash the next morning. After only a couple of weeks my hair is nice and soft and I'm seeing less hair loss. It wasn't serious, but I'd recommend this for anyone who has pitta/hair issues! I'll continue to use this!
