Restful sleep at last

As a Vata who is also in the Vata stage of life, this is a lifesaver. It works even better for me when I put it in my warm raw milk before bed instead of just warm water. Wish I had found this years ago, but I'm thankful to have it now!

Ashwanganda is the most bitter

Ashwanganda is the most bitter herb I've ever tasted there is literally nothing you could do to cover the overwhelming bad taste of this powder.

Hi Martin, sorry to hear you aren't fond of the taste of Ashwagandha root powder. In Ayurveda, taste is considered to be an extremely important component of the healing process, and the bitter taste in particular is deeply cleansing to the body because it scrapes fat and toxins, among with other benefits. In Ancient India, the name 'Ashwagandha' means 'the smell of a horse' partly because it bestows strength and vitality, and partly because it is indeed a very potent smell/taste!
You might benefit from adding honey to the hot water and powder as a natural sweetener to help with the taste, or if you still have trouble with it, you could try a liquid extract or tablet form of the Ashwagandha. We have a 90 day return policy and will happily work with you to return the item if you contact our customer service center.

No packaging or expiration date

Bought the 1/2lb package and it has no dates on it. Powdered version has very limited shelf life so it would be really useful to know when it was powdered.

We suggest our products are best used within two years of purchase and retain their potency best if stored out of direct sunlight in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

Omg new fave!

Ashwaganda has really helped my energy, physical mental emotional, from both a vata imbalance and menopause. Taking tablets and powder.

And OMG is because I just tried your recipe for date/ashwa truffles. I added a little ghee and tahini as my (too dry) dates would not puree, plus a pinch of cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg and sea salt. Came out perfect crumbly blend that will form into balls.
SO DELISH that i ate it right off the spoon! I’m looking forward to enrobing these in chocolate!

Oh my goodness, Annette! Your adjustments to our recipe sound delectable! We're so glad you feel supported by the vata balancing qualities of Ashwagandha. What a great plant ally to have in the variable season of spring! Thank you for your wonderful review and inspiration. Wishing you all the best.

I can't find strength of the powder.

Is there a way to know the equivalent of how many mg. of ashwagandha extract is in this powder?

Hi Rita! Thanks for your review and great question! Since milligrams are a measure of weight and teaspoons are a measure of volume, the two different measurements don’t lend themselves to easy equivalents. Herbs can vary in density so your best bet may be to get a gram scale. In light of this, we can tell you that there are about 1000 mgs in a half teaspoon of our Ashwagandha powder.

Reviews:

I cannot read the reviews, are they just stars? I want to know where the ashwagandha is grown, weird you would not show the country of origin, makes me suspicious.

Thank you for reaching out! We apologize for the inconvenience. Periodically, our reviews are sorted through for compliancy. We hope to have them available again in the near future.

Our Ashwagandha’s from India. We’re happy to send you a Certificate of Analysis, which includes the country of origin. Be sure to check your inbox for an email from us. We appreciate your interest!

Too many surveys

The product and service are great. What is not so great is that it is no longer possible to make a purchase anywhere without being asked for a survey (i.e. write a review to promote our product). I find it a bit too much and even a bit cynical. Perhaps after taking my Ashwaganda I will be less of a gruñon.
