Tranquil Mind Was Clinically Tested—Here’s What We Found

Tranquil Mind tablets underwent a small pilot study, and the results are in! We wanted to see how effective Tranquil Mind is in alleviating anxiousness and experiences that can accompany it, from the feeling of overwhelm to the fear of being in public places. According to this small trial, it turns out that these herbal tablets can be significantly effective!

Ayurveda's Approach to Anxiousness

In Ayurveda, anxiousness is especially linked to an imbalance in vata dosha. Responsible for movement and communication, vata plays a key role in the nervous system and mind. Anxiousness is a quintessential vata emotion when out of balance.  

Comprised of the elements air and ether, vata's qualities are dry, light, cool, rough, subtle, and mobile. Following Ayurveda's tenet that like increases like, this means that anything with these qualities in our lives will also increase vata—things like not enough structure or too much movement (like travel) can all increase vata, as can stress. And excess vata can lead to mental agitation, nervousness, and anxiousness.

Removing all stressors is not necessarily the solution—nor is it realistic, as not all of them are avoidable! Instead, balancing vata through diet, lifestyle, and herbs is a simple yet transformative way to regain our equilibrium.

The Structure of the Study

This was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial. Thirty-one participants with moderate disturbance from occasional anxiousness completed the trial, which lasted for a period of two weeks.

At the beginning of the trial, each person was randomly assigned to either the Tranquil Mind group or the placebo group, without knowing which tablet they were receiving. Both groups took three tablets twice daily for the two weeks.

On the first day of the trial, participants completed a validated questionnaire with 29 questions to assess their level of anxiousness, which was also completed on the last day of the trial period. These questions targeted mental, emotional, and physical states when participants experience anxiousness and were ranked on a scale of one to five, five representing a higher level of anxiousness.

The overall results show that, by the end of the two weeks, participants experienced an overall 38.9 percent decrease in their levels of anxiousness and associated experiences, with a 25–50 percent decrease in specific experiences.

The Results of the Study

For 27 of the 29 questions, Tranquil Mind's results were statistically significant, while the placebo's results were only statistically significant for 11 out of the 29 questions, and for the Tranquil Mind group, those results often scored much higher in statistical significance. This means that we can confidently conclude that the results are due to the participants taking Tranquil Mind and not due to coincidence.

In other words, Tranquil Mind was very effective in this trial in reducing anxiousness and related experiences!

Participants who took Tranquil Mind said:

  • They experienced a 45% decrease in uneasiness.
  • They felt 45% less likely that something awful would happen.
  • It was 49% less difficult to focus on anything other than their anxiousness.
  • They experienced an incredible 50% decrease in feeling like their worries overwhelmed them—and by the end of the trial, they rarely felt overwhelmed by their worries.
  • They experienced an average 42% decrease in physical signs of anxiousness, such as twitching or trembling muscles.

Understanding the Tranquil Mind Formula

Tranquil Mind tablets were formulated with vata in mind. In this formula, nine herbs work synergistically together to pacify vata, promote calmness, balance mental activity, and soothe the nerves, all without creating dullness or lethargy.

And while this formula is particularly vata-pacifying, it can also bring balance to pitta, which can cause mental and emotional agitation when out of balance. For example, bhringaraj, one of the main ingredients, is cooling and relaxing, calming and rejuvenating pitta while also tonifying vata in the process.

With its sattvic energy, gotu kola soothes and supports the body's response to fear and anxiousness, while skullcap and chamomile work synergistically to calm the nervous system. Passionflower also works in the nervous system, supporting the proper, balanced flow of vata.

Ashwagandha and vidari kanda, two rejuvenative herbs, ground the entire physiology and balance any excess dry and light qualities from imbalanced vata. Ashwagandha is also a well-known adaptogen, helping the body maintain balance in the face of stress.

The remaining two ingredients, fennel and pippali, support agni, ensuring this formula is digested and assimilated throughout the body and mind.

The resulting formula is a well-balanced blend of herbs that bring equanimity to the mind, nervous system, and emotions while smoothing out and calming any imbalances in vata and pitta.
