What Is Agni, and Why Does It Matter During a Cleanse? [video]

Welcome to our AskBanyan series, where we answer the most popular questions about living an Ayurvedic lifestyle.

Agni is our digestive fire. It's located in the stomach area, but it really helps with digestion throughout the whole body

Any food that we consume, agni helps us digest. Any emotions that come to us, agni helps us digest. It also helps with our metabolism and with promoting a healthy immune system

During an Ayurvedic cleanse specifically, agni is important because it helps us digest, burn, and flush the ama (natural toxins) that we're trying to eliminate by cleansing.

Agni is, therefore, super important—especially during a cleanse!
