Love this product for post meal digestion!!!
Really happy with this purchase - thank you. The powder is bitter as expected ("the medicine does not go down without a fight"), and that's exactly as it should be. I take a tsp with warm water every night, and can feel it working magic inside. Always feel lighter after - highly recommend!

In the beginning, so many years ago, my doctor recommended that I go with Banyan. With Banyan you don't have to wonder about the product you are purchasing. You know it's safe, sustainable, organic. The product is shipped quickly. I will always use Banyan, always suggest Banyan. You guys are the best! Thank you!
Is it usefull for hemorrhoids? And How to use, internally or seat bath? And please explain the dosages.
Unfortunately, we are not able to speak to hemorrhoid treatment because of FDA regulations. We encourage you to work with an Ayurvedic practitioner to establish the best treatment plan for your situation.
Can you please tell me how to use this herb? During meals?
Chitrak is used as a primary ingredient in kapha reducing formulas such as Trim Support and Healthy Kapha. Chitrak is very heating and stimulating to the digestive system, and you could combine a small amount with water and drink before or after meals to support agni (digestion).
Hi,
I've been searching for information about this herb (aka leadwort) online and haven't been able to find much. The small bit of info that I've come across points to chitrak as being somehow antibacterial and very inflammatory, and is recommended in very tiny does as it may have serious side effects. Is there more info available about safety and properties regarding this herb?
Thanks!
Thank you for your question. While we have not received any negative feedback from our customers about their experience with chitrak, we certainly recommend working with your health practitioner if you are unsure whether this is the right herb for you. Chitrak is great for kapha excess in the body and is most commonly used in conjunction with other herbs that can help balance its rather heating qualities. In referencing Ayurvedic Medicine by Sebastian Pole, here is some more information and guidance on chitrak: "It (chitrak) is a very hot natured herb and should be used sparingly. Overdose may cause burning, vomitting and diarrhea. It should always be used in combination with other herbs to moderate some of its harsh irritant properties. Often combined with ghee into a rejuvenating compound. Chitraka can be purified in lime juice to alleviate some of its harsher hot and penetrating qualities.” (p.156-7)
I read from Vasant lad book that for high cholesterol one can take chitrakadi vati but at the same time i have a question can a patient with high blood pressure take this ?
As we are not practitioners and due to the fact that we are regulated by the FDA, we are not able to speak to medical conditions of any kind. We recommend that you work with an Ayurvedic or healthcare practitioner, to help determine the best course of action for you.
