I have this product in pill form but would like to know another way to use this powder. An infusion? I would/could do that with the whole herb but not sure about the powder. I'd appreciate your input. Thanks.

Rachel Euell

You can certainly take powdered Kalmegh in water. Our suggested use for this powder is to add 1/4 to 1/2 a teaspoon to warm water, once or twice daily, or as recommended by your health practitioner. You could also add it to cold water to make more of an infusion. For this, let the powder soak overnight in water, skim off the top (film) the next day, and drink the remaining infusion.

Why is this product not labeled gluten free like the others?

Rachel Euell

Thank you for this question, Veronica. To the best of our knowledge, our bulk herbs, tablets, topical products, and food items are free of gluten, soy, and dairy. The machines used to powder the herbs are only used to powder herbs and spices. However, we work with dozens and dozens of small farms and it is likely that some of them would be growing nuts, barley, oats, and wheat. The machines used are all certified according to NOP and EU organic regulations regarding clean downs, batch to batch documentation, and so on.

Can Kalmegh be used 20 years post cholecystectomy?

Rachel Euell

Thank you for your question! We recommend that you work with a qualified, Ayurvedic or healthcare practitioner, to help determine the best course of action for you and your body.

yasmin

is it 100% pure extract powder?

Rachel Euell

This is 100% powdered kalmegh leaf. This is not an extract.

I want to know how many milligrams you get from how much Kalmegh powder? And if it is standardized for 10% andrographolides?

Rachel Euell

Because we do not standardize our herbs, we cannot guarantee the measured presence of particular constituents. A serving size of ¼ teaspoon kalmegh is equivalent to approximately 700mg. The suggested use is ¼ to ½ teaspoon with warm water, once or twice daily, or as directed by your health practitioner.
