How To Use

Suggested Use:
⅛ to ¼ teaspoon with warm water, once or twice daily, or as directed by your health practitioner.

GUGGULU

Bought the small spice jar. Well it is so hard as a rock to get out. Knife will not work. I had to use a knife cutting blade for boxes. First cut a chunk following getting out a small fine screen collander. Then grading it thru that into a bowel. Then I can measure some out. Not something a elderly person can do very well. When I called Banyon they said yes some seems to be that way. Well don't you think that should be noted in the description. That from time to time our Guggulu is very hard as a rock though it is a powder. So I was not pleased with having to do that at all to say the least. So I have not used the product other then 3 times because of this.

We are so sorry about the difficult time you had taking the guggulu. It is a resin, and will tend to want to clump back up into its original form. We also sell guggulu in a half pound and one pound bag. The bags are easier to extract the product if it has hardened. We advise putting the product in a blender to return it to powder form. This may have to be done several times if you buy in bulk.

I've been having health problems, so my mom recommended guggulu, along with some other stuff. But for the guggulu, she said don't trust any other brand than Banyan. You know when your mom says that, it's true.

Guggulu powder

It is difficult to swallow since it does not dissolve in water well. I don't have any positive results to report yet since starting to take it after meals this week.

Because the guggulu is a resin, it does not dissolve easily. We suggest grinding it first, steeping for longer, and stir frequently while you drink. If you would like to discuss a refund, please don't hesitate to contact us, if within 90 days of purchase.

Since the Guggulu resin was purified in Triphala, would this be the same as "Triphala Guggulu" mentioned in Ayurvedic texts? (So, for lowering cholesterol, this would be sufficient, or should it be mixed with Triphala?)

Great questions Leslie! The Guggulu and Triphala Guggulu are two different formulas. For both formulas, the guggulu is purified with triphala according to traditional Ayurvedic methods. However, the Triphala Guggulu has additional triphala added as an ingredient, whereas the Guggulu does not. Hope that helps!

Is this Guggul purified, or is it unprocessed? If purified, can you please specify what process was used before converting to powder?

Using traditional Ayurvedic methods, our Guggulu powder has been purified in a decoction of Triphala. Because Guggulu is a hard resin, it is combined with a natural flowing agent to make the resin more easily utilized. We have used naturally occurring silicon dioxide from quartz (silica).

KINDLY ADVISE ME HOW TO TAKE GUGGULU. IT IS A POWDER, SO WHETHER I HAVE TO DISSOLVE IN WATER OR WHATEVER THE PROCEDURE I SHOULD KNOW BEFORE BUYING. AND THE TASTE ALSO.

Typically, Guggulu is not used by itself, but rather as part of a formula. We sell it in bulk form for those who choose to make their own formulas. It is a powerful resin, and one should take a month's rejuvenation time for every two months of usage.

If my practitioner recommends 500 milligrams twice a day, how much would I use to get that amount? 1/4 tsp, 1/2 tsp, 1 tsp ? Thanks.
