FLOWERING MUKUL MYRRH
Guggulu is the common name for the flowering mukul myrrh tree, a small, thorny tree that grows in the arid climates of India. Guggulu also refers to the resinous substance formed from the sap of the guggul tree. Renowned for its cleansing and rejuvenating properties, this myrrh resin has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years.

PROTECTING GUGGULU'S FUTURE
Guggulu has been grossly over-harvested in recent decades and wild populations of the precious tree have become endangered. For this reason, we have gone through great lengths to source our guggulu from small, private farms where sustainable harvesting practices are ensured.
-
Sustainably Sourced
Environmentally responsible practices support the long term well-being of the plants and ecosystems we source from.
-
Certified Organic
Organic herbs are grown with the use of renewable resources, contributing to both individual and planetary health.
-
Fairly Traded
Equitable supply chains ensure the social and economic well-being of our small farmers, producers, and suppliers.
Bought the small spice jar. Well it is so hard as a rock to get out. Knife will not work. I had to use a knife cutting blade for boxes. First cut a chunk following getting out a small fine screen collander. Then grading it thru that into a bowel. Then I can measure some out. Not something a elderly person can do very well. When I called Banyon they said yes some seems to be that way. Well don't you think that should be noted in the description. That from time to time our Guggulu is very hard as a rock though it is a powder. So I was not pleased with having to do that at all to say the least. So I have not used the product other then 3 times because of this.
We are so sorry about the difficult time you had taking the guggulu. It is a resin, and will tend to want to clump back up into its original form. We also sell guggulu in a half pound and one pound bag. The bags are easier to extract the product if it has hardened. We advise putting the product in a blender to return it to powder form. This may have to be done several times if you buy in bulk.
