Ayurvedic Soap

In Ayurveda, what you put on your body matters as much as what you put in it. The tastes, flavors, textures, scents, and even sounds that you take in through your senses—and your skin—play a vital role in your health and well-being.

According to Ayurveda, the health of your skin reflects the health of your entire body. And because your skin is the largest organ of your body, it absorbs more than you may realize.

This is why we offer three Ayurvedic soaps made with certified organic ingredients that are specially chosen for their known benefits to skin care. Handcrafted and containing no added synthetics, our soaps are a healthy way to clean your skin.

What Is Ayurvedic Soap?

Ayurvedic soap is a gentle and natural self-care product that can be used as a holistic addition to your daily skin care regimen for clear, clean, and moisturized skin from head to toe.

Our Ayurvedic soap is crafted with the doshas and your Ayurvedic body type (or prakriti) in mind. We infuse each gentle cleansing bar with nourishing, aromatic herbs that do more than just cleanse the skin—they have the power to uplift the mind and emotions, calm the nervous system, and contribute to your overall well-being and state of natural balance.

Why Use Ayurvedic Soap?

Embracing an Ayurvedic lifestyle means acknowledging that anything can be medicine when used in the right way, including what you put on your skin and the scents and aromas you inhale. Even mundane habits like showering, bathing, or cleansing your face can take on meaning and purpose of sacred rituals of self-care.

Our Ayurvedic soaps are crafted with these concepts in mind in order to bring the uplifting power of the plants to your body, your home, and your daily routine. They are an invitation to nourish not only your skin, but your senses too—including body, mind, and spirit.

Science has shown that our sense of smell is directly linked to our emotions, and certain scents offer amazing benefits for our overall health and well-being. Lavender, for example, may be one of the best-known scents for relaxing the body, soothing the nervous system, and calming the mind.

Each of our soaps is carefully formulated and infused with the finest herbs, flowers, and essential oils in order to provide healing qualities that refresh the body, ease the mind, alleviate stress, and impart a sense of joy. Paired with one of our herbal massage oils, these make the perfect components to a supportive daily routine.

Lavender Soap: Calming and Relaxing

The fresh fragrance of lavender flowers is soothing to the senses and has a deeply calming effect on the mind and body. This luxurious Lavender Soap helps wash away stresses and bring the body into a place of total relaxation.

Although the grounding nature of lavender is most ideal for vata, this soap is gentle enough to cool the heat of pitta or offer extra nourishing support to kapha.

Neem and Aloe Soap: Cooling and Soothing

Neem, one of Ayurveda’s most cooling herbs, combines with the soothing qualities of aloe vera to create a cleansing soap for everyday use. The grounding scent of vetiver essential oil helps calm the mind, while fine organic herbal powders provide a gentle exfoliation.

This Neem Soap is most suited for those with pitta-type skin, but it is gentle enough to be used by just about anyone.

Cedar Eucalyptus Soap: Uplifting and Refreshing

In our Cedar Eucalyptus Soap, the deep and rich aroma of cedar combines with bright and fresh eucalyptus to gently invigorate the senses, relieve tension from the body and mind, and encourage a feeling of stability.

Eucalyptus is known to promote clear channels for breathing, which makes this soap an excellent choice for balancing kapha, especially in the respiratory tract. Yet the woody, grounding influence of cedar makes this soap a well-rounded choice for all constitutions.

How Our Palm Oil Is Sourced

Palm fruit oil is an ingredient in our soaps. The use of palm oil has its challenges because commercial palm plantations throughout Southeast Asia are rapidly replacing the forests. In addition to the basic problem of deforestation, this is a concern because it severely diminishes animal habitat in these regions and particularly threatens orangutan population and viability.

We do not use palm oil sourced from Southeast Asia. Our soap is made with only certified organic, fair trade palm oil from South American countries that are 3rd party certified for sustainability by the most stringent RSPO criteria (Round Table of Sustainable Palm Oil).
