Rachel graduated from the Ayurvedic Institute in 2011 where she was privileged to study with Dr. Vasant Lad and Dr. Claudia Welch. She is a guest faculty member at Hawthorn Institute and a founding member of Soil & Sky, a land based non-profit focused on bio-regional medicine and embodied education. Along with Ayurveda, Rachel has a passion for regenerative agriculture and sustainable land stewardship.

How has Ayurveda changed your life?

Ayurveda has provided me a framework for understanding my internal, as well as external, environments. The wisdom of Ayurveda continues to reveal itself to me day after day!

Which Banyan products are you currently using and why?

Kitchari Spice Mix is a staple in our kitchen! We love adding it to lentils, veggies, and even scrambled eggs. Beauty Balm is another favorite, which I use every evening before bed.

When are you most likely to go out of balance and how do you bring yourself back in balance using Ayurveda?

During the heat of summer when Pitta really takes hold, I rely on daily doses of river-swimming and Healthy Pitta to keep cool and calm.

Gardening, floral arranging, hiking, and traveling
