Mig Windows is an Ashland local who absolutely loves Oregon and everything in it. She has a background in theatre and film, and when she isn’t working at Banyan she is an award-winning independent filmmaker, writer, director, and actress. She majored in Theatre at Southern Oregon University, where her plays and scripts are often performed, and is one of the founding members of ROW 211 Films, a Rogue Valley film production company that she founded with her best friends. She is currently working on many projects, including a narrative film about Ayurveda.

How has Ayurveda changed your life?

Ayurveda has been immensely helpful in dealing with the stress of narrative creation, time management, and finding balance. Banyan and Ayurveda have been very grounding for me and I am so thankful to come to work every day to such a beautiful, warm, and loving environment.

Which Banyan products are you currently using and why?

Banyan was nice enough to supply me with a Daily Routine Kit on my first day, and I have been using it every day since then to start my morning. I also am extremely fond of Stress Ease, Beauty Balm, Mahanarayan Oil, and our Kitchari Kit, which lets you make some of the best kitchari ever!

When are you most likely to go out of balance and how do you bring yourself back in balance using Ayurveda?

As a theatre and film person, going out of balance is easy for me! It’s extremely helpful to breathe, meditate, drink tea, and remember that everything that happens is all part of the great journey of learning that we’re on.

Who inspires you?

Everyone I meet, but particularly my mother and my acting and filmmaking friends, who can persevere through anything.

How do you make a difference in your community / world?

With everything I do, whether it’s helping people find herbs or making a film, I strive to remind people that they are unique, that their voice matters, and that we are not alone in the world. We live in an amazing time where answers are just a click or a phone call away, and knowing that I can help someone in their journey to find harmony—whether personally or professionally—is pretty inspiring!
