Felice is a lover of many things, especially dancing, art, words, and soft things. She has a BA in English and Writing, is a licensed esthetician, and a mother to one teenager and one young adult. She taught lower elementary for many years and is still deciding what she wants to be when she grows up. (She is leaning toward ninja or Blind Pilot groupie.)

How has Ayurveda changed your life?

Ayurveda is a like a big affirmative hug. It confirms the deepest parts of my nature and our connection to all of Nature.

Which Banyan products are you currently using and why?

It might depend on the day and the season, but some of my favorites are Healthy Bones, Arjuna liquid extract, Tulsi liquid extract, and Nasya. I've even come to appreciate ghee for how it makes my body feel. And my go-to is Healthy Vata for a sensitive nervous system.

When are you most likely to go out of balance and how do you bring yourself back in balance using Ayurveda?

I think I am only just learning what it feels like to be in balance. I am most likely to go out of balance when I am being led by the pitta part of me—the need to do, to achieve, to prove—at the expense of my body and my spirit. Time in nature, dance, yoga, rest, massage, warmth, walking with my “granddogger” all bring me back to a semblance of equilibrium.

My bed! Also, Hawaii, Crete, and Mexico.

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” — Mary Oliver

Anything warm and creamy with cinnamon and, these days, cardamom.
