My name is Rose…

Well, okay, Rose isn’t my real name. I’ve chosen a nom de plume. A fictitious name frees me to be totally open, to give full disclosure, to not hold back in the intricacies and intimacies of life as they relate to Ayurveda.

Ayurveda deals in all that is to be human – from the divine to the… let’s face it, disgusting. I don’t want shame, ego, or fear to block my ability to share my experiences with you completely. Hence, I’m not only Rose, but will make my best effort to be Open Rose.

So… who am I?

I am a 3o-something petite brunette, with a Vata-Pitta constitution. Born and raised by a single mom on the East Coast, I moved West after college to study yoga. While making a living as a yoga teacher and writer, I’ve been able formally study Ayurveda as well as travel to India every few years to marinate in the source locale of Ayurveda.

Open Rose is an opportunity for re-invigoration. I’ll be sharing my curiosities, tribulations, successes, confusions and epiphanies as I review and renew my experiences of Ayurveda – from the most esoteric principles to the most essential practices. I’ll be bringing in guests bloggers – from newcomers to experts in Ayurveda. I must admit, looking over my towering collection of Ayurvedic books, files, binder and notebooks, a bit of overwhelm creeps in!

My friends at Banyan Botanicals have sponsored this blog, to support others with what I hope is a true depiction of the day-to-day experience of Ayurveda.
