Nasal Rinse
A nasal rinse is a simple and effective way to clean out the debris, pollutants, and allergens that assail the respiratory system. For thousands of years Ayurveda has recommended a nasal rinse as a part of a healthy lifestyle to keep your sinuses and nasal passages clean and healthy.
Nasal Rinse Benefits
Your nose filters the 7-8 liters of air that you breathe each minute. That air, while supplying the breath of life, brings with it particles that irritate the nasal passages and sinuses, and often lead to allergies and sinus infections. A daily or weekly nasal rinse offers supports overall respiratory health because it can:
- Support a health upper respiratory system*
- Provide soothing relief for nasal dryness*
- Gently remove excess mucous*
- Rinse away dust, pollen and other irritants*
- Maintain a healthy nasal & sinus lining*
- Keep your head clear & refreshed*
If you suffer from allergies or repeated sinus infections, you should discuss your care with your doctor and ask if a nasal rinse practice can be a helpful part of your therapy.

3 Step Nasal Rinse Instructions
A nasal rinse requires a neti pot – available from Banyan Botanicals. It only takes a few minutes and can even be done by children.
- Fill your neti pot with warm water and a little salt and move in a circular motion to dissolve the salt, creating a saline solution.
- Standing in the shower, or over the bathroom sink, place the spout of the neti pot in one nostril and tip your head to the opposite side. The saline water enters one nostril from the spout of the pot, and exits the other nostril, having traveled through and cleansed the nasal passages by the gentle force of gravity.
- Do the other side by placing the spout of the neti pot in your other nostril and tipping your head the other way.
